The Wolverines beat Maryland, 42-21, for their fifth straight win on Saturday.
The Michigan football team continued its climb up the national rankings this week.
After a 42-21 win over Maryland on Saturday, the Wolverines jumped three spots in the weekly AP Top 25 poll to No. 12.
Michigan (5-1,3-0 Big Ten) has now won five straight games after a season-opening loss at Notre Dame, which checked in at No. 5 and remains unbeaten.
It is the third-highest ranked Big Ten team in the AP rankings, behind Ohio State (No. 3) and Penn State (No. 8).
Michigan also climbed three spots in the weekly Amway Coaches Poll, to No. 13, behind OSU (No. 3), PSU (No. 8) and Wisconsin (No. 10).
The Wolverines will host Wisconsin on Saturday in Ann Arbor, a prime-time game under the lights at Michigan Stadium (7:30 p.m., ABC). They put together a complete effort against Maryland, totaling 465 yards of total offense while holding the Terrapins to just 87 yards through the first three quarters.
Both polls have the same top four teams: Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Clemson, respectively.
Michigan State, the only other Big Ten team in the rankings last week, dropped out of both polls after a 29-19 loss to Northwestern on Saturday.
