The total number of people dead attributed to COVID-19 in Orange County remains 131, with no new deaths reported. Of the reported deaths, 52 were among skilled nursing facility residents.
The Orange County Health Care Agency reported another 110 people have tested positive for the coronavirus as of Tuesday, May 26. The total cases in the county are 5,578.
The county also released an estimate for the number of recoveries from the virus, which is about 1,995 as of Tuesday. The estimate of recovered cases was made by taking the difference between the prior 28-day cumulative case count –figuring most people recover within four weeks – and current number of deaths to determine the current day recovered total.
