The Jacksonville Jaguars cut the 34-year-old former Heisman Trophy winner and University of Florida quarterback Tuesday, and Jaguars coach Urban Meyer pulled no punches when assessing Tebow’s future as an NFL player. “I would guess it is,” Meyer said when asked about whether Tebow’s release signified the end of his pro-football career according to a tweet from NFL.com insider Ian Rapoport. “Obviously he’s his own man… elite warrior, elite competitor, but he’s also 34 years old.” Tebow has navigated one of the most bizarre paths of any pro athlete in recent memory. He is one of the most popular athletes, thanks largely to his legendary college football career, which he capped with consecutive national championships while playing for Meyer with the Gators.
