Jay Black, the frontman for the 1960s pop group Jay and the Americans, has died. He was 82. According to a statement from his family, Black passed away Friday from complications of pneumonia. He also suffered from dementia in is later years, the statement said. The band’s Facebook page posted a tribute to Black on Saturday, which read in part, “We shared both wonderful and very contentious times, and much like an ex-wife, we are so proud of the beautiful children we created.
