Total Wine & More stores stop selling Russian vodka to protest Ukraine invasion
A large retailer of beer, wine and spirits with four stores in Michigan has halted selling all Russian-made products in its stores. In a show of support, Total Wine & More stores removed all the Russian-made products from store shelves. A post earlier Monday on the Total Wine & More Facebook page read: “Today, this is what you will see in our stores. In support of the Ukrainian people, we have removed all Russian-made products from our shelves.” More: Fat Tuesday 2022: 14 places to find paczki in southeast Michigan More: Taqueria El Rey to have pop-up at Corktown’s Batch Brewing The post included a picture of an empty shelf with a sign stating that “We are “no longer selling any Russian made product.” There are more than 2,500 comments on the post that has nearly 5,000 shares. Many of the comments applaud the company for taking the stand. Others commented that the vodka was already paid so removing it was pointless. Edward Cooper, Total Wine & More vice president for public affairs confirmed Monday evening that Russian vodka has been removed from store shelves.
