Jimmy Kimmel took the opportunity to make a joke at Donald Trump’s expense when he hosted the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday night.
The star-studded audience laughed loudly at the quip and the former president’s niece also seemed to approve of the joke, as she took to social media to share her thoughts.
“It turns out there’s only one loser tonight,” she posted to X, formerly Twitter.
Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee in the 2024 presidential race, slammed Kimmel’s hosting of the event on his Truth Social platform during the ceremony.
“Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars. His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be,” Trump wrote. “Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC ‘talent,’ George Slopanopoulos.
