Suspect dead in Charlotte shooting of US marshal and three officers

WCNC is reporting a U.S. deputy marshal and three officers were shot on Monday afternoon in northeast Charlotte.
At least one shooting suspect is dead at a home after a Monday shooting involving multiple law enforcement officers, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.

Police said just before 5 p.m. Monday that the area near the 5000 block of Galway Drive is safe. Residents no longer need to shelter in place, police said.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are questioning two other people.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, comprised of officers from multiple agencies, was attempting to serve a warrant in the 5000 block of Galway Drive when a person began shooting at them.
Multiple agents were shot and are being taken to the hospital.
Many roads were closed for hours for faster ambulance transport. The road closures are having a very large impact around Charlotte, with many locals tweeting that they saw dozens of first responders rushing down the roadways.
