The Consulate General of France in New York is sponsoring a French musical festival celebrating Bastille Day in New York’s Central Park on July 14th, 2024.
Bastille Day, a national holiday in France, commemorates the storming of the Bastille and the beginning of the French Revolution. Celebrated on July 14th each year, cities around the world join in the festivities. But none outside France are as impressive as those in New York City.
The Consulate General of France in New York has once again organized a French musical festival celebrating Bastille Day, which will be held in New York’s Central Park.
The festival will take place from 5 PM to 10 PM on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at the Rumsey Playfield in Central Park (The entrance is at 72nd Street on Fifth Avenue.)Bastille Day 2024 French Music Festival in Central Park
Last year, more than 6,000 French and American attendees gathered for this celebration in the park featuring performances by famous French and French-speaking artists.
Made possible through a partnership with Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage and the Comité des Associations françaises et de langue française de New York (CAFUSA), the event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
The Bastille Day 2024 French Music Festival playlist includes performances by:
IAM – This iconic, award-winning rap group began in Marseille in 1989. Their lyrics address issues such as social injustice, racism, and urban violence.
Magic System – This Ivorian quartet with catchy sounds always gets people dancing.
