Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young is reportedly “very shocked” at the team’s decision to bench him.
The Carolina Panthers made the shocking decision to bench 2023 No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young on Monday, instead choosing to start veteran quarterback Andy Dalton for their Week 3 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Panthers head coach Dave Canales told reporters that the decision came from him, and he felt Dalton gave the team the best chance to win moving forward.
This decision came as a huge surprise to just about everyone — including Young, himself.
According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, Young and those close to him are “very shocked” about the decision. “It came out of nowhere”, one source said to Schultz.
The Panthers selected Young with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
