It’s official, the Mets are playoff bound.
It’s official, the New York Mets are playoff-bound. After a crazy final two innings, the Mets won the first game of Monday’s doubleheader. The 8-7 triumph over the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park was nothing short of insane.

The doubleheader was certainly played in the spirit of October baseball.
In the first game of the double billing, the Braves bullpen lost a 3-0 lead in the eighth inning. The Mets scored six runs in said frame. A hit from Mets second baseman Jose Iglesias tied the game 3-3. Mets left fielder Brandon Nimmo’s home run provoked a silence over the crowd at Truist Park.
Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies’ hit a base-clearing double that brought three runners home to regain the lead at the bottom of the eighth.
