If you ask Meta AI to analyze an image or video you take with your Ray-Ban Smart Glasses, Meta will feed that content into its AI for training.
Meta is hungry for AI training data—and is using more than just your Instagram and Facebook posts to get it. The company has confirmed that any images or videos you ask its Meta AI about through a pair of its latest Ray-Ban Smart Glasses will be used for future AI model training.
“[I]n locations where multimodal AI is available (currently US and Canada), images and videos shared with Meta AI may be used to improve it per our Privacy Policy”, Meta policy communications manager Emil Vazquez tells TechCrunch this week.
Initially, the company didn’t want to reveal whether it was using content captured with the glasses to power its AI models. Now, it’s admitting that it will be using any media that’s been examined by the AI.
