Art Thieves Use Bomb Attack to Steal 2 Warhol Prints But Damage Two Others

An art heist in the Netherlands was botched Friday when the thieves failed to secure all four prints in their getaway car.
Art thieves used a bomb attack to steal two prints by American pop artist Andy Warhol from an art gallery in the southern Netherlands but damaged two others, the gallery owner said Friday.
The thieves attempted to steal all four works by the late artist from a 1985 series called “Reigning Queens”, according to gallery owner Mark Peet Visser. The series features portraits of the then-queens of the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark and Swaziland, now called Eswatini.Botched Heist
Visser told The Associated Press (AP) that the gallery was “destroyed” by the bomb.
“The bomb attack was so violent that my entire building was destroyed”, he said, adding that nearby stores were also damaged. “So they did that part of it well, too well actually”, he said.
