AMA Opposes House Republicans’ Plan To Replace Obamacare

The American Medical Association on Wednesday announced that it opposes the new House Republican plan for replacing Obamacare, claiming it would deprive millions of Americans of coverage and benefits.
The AMA’s opposition comes one day after the American Hospital Association announced it was against the new plan unveiled by House Republicans on Monday.
It also comes as President Donald Trump met Tuesday with House Republicans to keep up the momentum for repealing and replacing Obamacare in the face of opposition that has emerged since the plan was made public.

“The president said very clearly . . . this is the bill he wants on his desk, and he wants to get this done quickly,” said Rep. Patrick T. McHenry, R-N. C.
“The president is paying attention to what people are saying and doing, where they’re saying it and doing it.
