One of Aaron Hernandez’s three reported suicide notes was published by TMZ Sports on Friday, revealing the former NFL player’s final words to his fiancée.
“You have always been my soulmate, ” Hernandez wrote to the mother of his daughter and fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez. “I want you to love life and know I’m always with you.”
Hernandez also alludes to telling Jenkins-Hernandez “indirectly” about his coming suicide.
“Tell my story fully but never think anything besides how much I love you, ” Hernandez wrote. “This was the Supreme’s, the Almighty’s plan, not mine.”

Hernandez ends the note telling “Shay” that she is going to be rich after Hernandez ends his life, concluding with a reference to Savage Garden’s 1999 romantic ballad, “I Knew I Loved you.”
According to a death investigation from Massachusetts State Police and the Worcester County district attorney, Hernandez used cardboard to stuff the tracks of his prison cell door — a tactic used to slow the pace at which guards could aide Hernandez after he hanged himself.
Officials also say Hernandez used shampoo to make the floor of his cell slippery, another tactic to prevent prison officials from easily rescuing him. Hernandez was found hanged naked by his bedsheet in his cell around 3 a.m.
The report also confirms a previously reported detail that Hernandez had used his own blood to mark the walls with drawings and his forehead with the note “John 3: 16” — referring to the Bible passage that states, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
