A California teen says he’ ll never bungee jump again after a terrifying episode stuck hanging upside down on a ride at a fair.
Roger Rodriguez, 19, said that he was suspended about 30 feet into the air for at least 20 minutes Wednesday night at the Ventura County Fair.
Due to a mechanical failure, ride operators were unable to raise Rodriguez back up to the cage where jumped from or lower him down, according to the Ventura County Star .
“I was about to pass out, ” he told the Ventura County Star.
As he waited for rescue crews to arrive, the teen said that his head started to ache and he prayed that he would return to his feet.
Ventura Fire Department responded to the scene and got Rodriguez back to the ground using a ladder.
Rodriguez was not injured, but said that there will no be more bungee jumping in his future.
“It was my third time, but it’s my last, ” Rodriguez said.
Two other fair-goers trapped in the steel bungee box were also rescued.
Authorities are investigating what caused the ride to malfunction.
