Dual-camera setup coming to the Galaxy S9 as well
According to the latest forecast published by Kuo, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S9 with a dual-camera setup as well, most likely in the spring of 2018.
What’s (probably) more interesting is that Kuo doesn’ t expect Samsung to give up on the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor before the debut of the Galaxy Note 9, which as per the company’s release schedule should take place in approximately 12 months.
In other words, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will come with the same fingerprint sensor as the existing models, while for the next phablet, the company could finally launch a model with the sensor embedded into the screen.
The analyst reveals that Samsung is currently working with Himax and Egis to develop the embedded fingerprint scanner, as the phone maker needs more time to get the technology right after several failed to attempts to bring it to mass production.
The next iPhone will launch in just a few weeks and we’ ll learn more about how Apple managed to deal with the Touch ID tech at that point.
