Hunters gear up. The Monster Hunter: World Beta phase will kick off this Saturday, Dec. 9 at 9 a.m. PT and will end on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 8:59 a.m. PT, according to Capcom’s announcement. The Beta will be exclusively available on PlayStation 4 and only for those who have a PlayStation Plus subscription active.
Unlike other cases, the Monster Hunter: World Beta files will take 5.9 GB of free space, which is a bare minimum for an RPG of its size. We expect its total size, when it releases, to be a lot more than we see in the Beta.
If you are curious as to what you’ll be tasked to do in this beta time, Capcom states:
The beta features 3 quests across 2 environments from the game. In the Ancient Forest, you can hunt a fierce yet beginner-friendly Great Jagras or as a more experienced player confront the mighty threat of an Anjanath. In the Wildspire Waste, a massive, dry expanse with swamplands, you can face off against the intermediate level mud-slinging Barroth.
The Monster Hunter: World Beta phase will not run for free though. All players that will partake in this process will get some useful bonus items in the full game. The company reveals though, that for this to happen, you must use the same Sony Entertainment Network account for both the beta and the full game.
Each quest in the Monster Hunter: World Beta can be done solo or with up to three other players online, and you’ll be able to choose from 14 different weapon types based on your preferred playstyle, which you can now change during quests at camp. You can even try out each of them before heading out on a quest by visiting the Training Room.
Monster Hunter World is scheduled to launch on January 26,2018, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and the game will launch for PC at a later date.
