“A blessed Good Friday and Passover to all of you. I’ll be off next week for Easter break with my kids,” said Ingraham. “Fear not. We’ve got a great lineup of guest hosts to fill in for me.”
The announcement came after at least 14 sponsors had dropped Ingraham’s show, “The Ingraham Angle,” amidst backlash caused by her tweet mocking Parkland survivor and gun control activist David Hogg for being rejected from some of the colleges he had applied to.
Although Ingraham later apologized “for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland,” that wasn’t enough for Hogg, who called for a continued boycott until the Fox News host “denounce[s] the way your network has treated my friends and I in this fight.”
The 14 advertisers that have dropped Ingraham’s show since Wednesday include: Office Depot, Liberty Mutual, Jenny Craig, Nutrish, Atlantis Paradise Island, Stitch Fix, Global investment group Principal, Johnson & Johnson, Hulu, Expedia, Nestle, Wayfair, Trip Advisor, and Ruby Tuesday.
In response to the liberal backlash against Ingraham, conservatives have called for boycotts against the companies who dropped the show.
Hogg appeared to take a victory lap at Ingraham by tweeting, “Have some healthy reflections this Holy Week.”
