Trump’s approval rating has fallen since his inauguration, but it hasn’t been a steady downhill slope. Most recently it dipped before rebounding at the end of March and beginning of April.

In contrast, the IBC/TIPP poll has Trump’s approval rating plummeting since his inauguration.
Investor’s Business Daily attributes the drop to the failure of the Republican healthcare bill, which Trump heavily pushed.
“As his ambitious agenda encounters some obstacles in Congress, President Trump’s approval ratings have declined,” Raghavan Mayur, president of TechnoMetrica which runs the IBD/TIPP Poll, said in a statement.
“For instance, the inability of Congress to pass the proposed health care bill has weighed down Americans’ approval of Trump’s overall performance as president.
“Also, some Americans had hoped that he and Congress would take up tax reform first, rather than wait for health care reform. The media’s persistently negative coverage of President Trump, especially regarding the ongoing Russian investigation, has also taken a toll on his approval numbers. “
