A New Jersey teen was shocked to learn the navy blue Donald Trump “Make America Great Again” T-shirt he wore on picture day was censored from his high school’s yearbook.
Grant Berardo, 17, a junior at Wall Township High School, flipped through the yearbook Wednesday and found that his T-shirt was blacked-out by the removal of Trump’s signature slogan.
“We didn’ t have a dress code, ” the student told NJ.com . “The senior (boys) have to wear black jackets and ties, but the underclassmen don’ t have a dress code.”
Grant believes his Trump’s T-shirt was Photoshopped and he expressed disappointment over its alteration when he showed his parents the yearbook.

“I like Trump, but it’s history too, ” the teen told the Asbury Park Press . “Wearing that shirt memorializes the time.”
Wall Schools Superintendent Cheryl Dyer said in a statement that the district is investigating the matter.
“There is nothing in Wall Township High School’s student dress code that would prevent a student from expressing his or her political views, or support for a political figure, via appropriate clothing and attire, ” Dyer said. “Indeed, the administration applauds students for becoming involved in politics, making their voices known, and taking an active part in our democracy.”
Dyer told the Daily News high school administrators were not aware of the issue until the yearbooks were distributed, adding that she’s taking “this very seriously and it will be addressed appropriately.”

“I don’ t understand the censorship, ” the father told the newspaper. “I think it was probably politically motivated.”
