It would seem that developers are as excited for the upcoming 4K-capable console from Microsoft as we are; since 80 titles have been confirmed to be enhanced for the system come November.
When Microsoft revealed the Xbox One X, many believed it would suffer the same fate as the PlayStation 4 Pro, which up to this point, hasn’t seen huge support from developers in general. But it would seem that the console from Microsoft will get a lot more love come this November.
After the console was revealed, Middle Earth: Shadow of War was touted as the first 4K HDR enhanced title. Shortly after, many other developers followed suit, pointing to how easy it was to develop for the system. Games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Elite: Dangerous will be upgraded to take full advantage of the system, and at E3, games such as Anthem and Assassins Creed: Origins was shown to support it as well. Although the console will not receive 4K support on all games, as Microsoft pointed out, saying ‘it is up to developers’; it is great to see these creators put in the time and effort for a console that hasn’t even gone on sale yet.
As reported earlier, the console will download these enhanced features for all games regardless of the display connected to the system, unlike the rival console which only downloads and enhances the game if it’s connected to a higher resolution display. According to Microsoft, this is to ensure that gamers get a consistent experience on the console, which is expected since you might not want to download hundred of gigabytes of updates to get the full experience once you do connect a 4K display.
Here is the full list of enhanced titles for the console as confirmed by the developer:
The Xbox One X will go on sale on November 7 and will have a retail price of $499. The system will have a 4K-capable 6Tflop GPU, eight-core CPU and 12GB of RAM. It will go on sale worldwide according to Microsoft, and the pre-order date will be announced closer to launch.
