Samsung has debuted a new theater display that is nearly 34 feet wide and is unlike anything else in the world. The Cinema LED offers 4K resolution, HDR, and is paired with a sound system by JBL.
Samsung has been making some great strides with its displays over the past few years, innovating when necessary to keep itself at the top of a very competitive industry. Earlier this year, the firm debuted a new line of TVs featuring its Quantum Dot technology, that somehow managed to improve upon the specifications of the previous year’s offerings.
In a bit of surprise move, Samsung has now launched something completely new, albeit this product will not be found at your local electronics retailer and even if it was available, you probably would not even be able to fit in your home.
The firm’s new Cinema LED is a 33.8-foot wide display that is currently one of a kind and located at the Lotte Cinema World Tower in Korea. It offers a resolution of 4,096 x 2,160, and offers support for HDR that will allow it to offer a bit more punch when it comes to colors with a peak brightness that is “nearly 10 times greater than that offered by standard projector technologies”.
In order to complete the experience, Samsung has surrounded the screen with speakers from JBL produced by Harman. The firm states that there is “proprietary audio processing technology and JBL’s Sculpted Surround system” that is capable of “producing an unparalleled sight and sound experience the way the content creators intended”.
For now, those in Korea will be able to experience this technology, but let us hope that it will arrive in other parts of the world in the very near future.
