President Trump on Monday touted the country’s economy and insisted there was no White House “chaos.”
“Highest Stock Market EVER, best economic numbers in years, unemployment lowest in 17 years, wages raising, border secure, S. C.: No WH chaos!” Trump tweeted Monday.
His comments come just days after Trump’s former chief of staff, Reince Priebus, was ousted. Priebus said in a Friday interview he had submitted his resignation the previous day.
On Twitter, Trump thanked Priebus for his “service and dedication to his country.”
The president tapped Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly to take over the role.
The shakeup also came after new White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci attacked Priebus and chief strategist Stephen Bannon in an interview with The New Yorker.
On the Sunday morning talk shows, many predicted Kelly would bring “discipline” and “order” to his new post.
Trump’s comments Monday also come after he announced last week on Twitter a ban on transgender people serving in the military and has repeatedly gone after his attorney general, Jeff Sessions Jeff Sessions Trump says White House not in chaos Juan Williams: Three elections offer clues to Trump NYT’s Dowd: Despite tough talk, Trump is ‘really weak’ MORE .
