DUBLIN, Calif. (AP) _ Callidus Software Inc. (CALD) on Thursday reported a loss of $7.3 million in its second quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Dublin, California-based company said it had a loss of 11 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, were 8 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 6 cents per share.
The business software maker posted revenue of $61.3 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $59 million.
For the current quarter ending in October, Callidus said it expects revenue in the range of $61.7 million to $62.7 million.
The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $245 million to $248 million.
Callidus shares have climbed 45 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $24.30, an increase of 31 percent in the last 12 months.
