The victim’s car left the road and struck a tree stump, state police said.
NEWAYGO COUNTY, MI – A Grand Rapids man died Tuesday, Sept. 5, in a one-vehicle crash on Croton Road near Pear Avenue.
State police were called to a 9: 57 p.m. report of a fatal crash in Newaygo County’s Croton Township.
The investigation shows that Laarman was driving west on Croton Road when his vehicle left the road and struck a large tree stump. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was using a seat belt and airbags deployed. Police said that alcohol and speed are believed to be factors but the crash remains under investigation.
