On October 29, pop star Andy Grammer chatted with Digital Journal about his show at The Paramount, as well as his plans for the future, and the digital transformation of music.
Tonight, Grammer is headlining The Paramount in Huntington on Long Island. “I am excited,” he said. “I love it here. This is like coming home. Everybody is like family down here. It’s great!”
His new single “Give Love,” featuring LunchMoney Lewis, earned a glowing review from Digital Journal. On the idea for his latest single, “Give Love,” he said, “That was one that was inspired by mom, and how she taught me to live. My mom is an incredible lady.”
Regarding the commercial success of his Top 10 pop single ” Honey, I’m Good,” he said, “That was great! That was a while ago, but that was awesome.”
On his plans for the future, Grammer revealed, “We have an album coming out pretty soon, and we are dropping a new single next week. We are really proud and excited to get some new music out.”

On the impact of technology in the contemporary music scene, he said, “Technology is cool! More than ever, the best song wins. It’s all in the data.”
Regarding his use of technology, Grammer said, “I wrote a lot of this third album on a bus, which is kind of amazing. I wrote it and produced it on there. That is pretty awesome that you are able to do that at this point. To have a studio on a bus and have it still sound pretty damn good.”
Grammer continued, “We are thinking about putting our new album on vinyl. “We are still deciding.”
When asked to reflect over the last six years in a rear-view mirror, he responded, “I see a bunch of good songs. That’s what it is. I am always chasing great songs. The shows are really fun now, since you get to play all the songs that you found.”
The singer-songwriter listed pop songstress Tori Kelly as his dream female duet choice. “I think it would be pretty fun to do a song with Tori,” he said, and he complimented Rachel Platten. “Rachel’s great. I love her! Her new album came out. It’s really good,” he added.
For aspiring singer-songwriters and bands, Grammer said, “Don’t stop writing until you have something that makes everybody freaks out. That’s the biggest piece of advice I can give.”
He defined the word success as follows: “We all have different purposes, so success means fulfilling your specific purpose.”
“I love you, and I will never stop striving to make the good music so that you can keep coming,” he told his dedicated fans.
“Give Love” is available on iTunes .
