As more and more harassment allegations surface around the country, another four women accused former producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, according to a Monday report.
Hope Exiner d’Amore, Cynthia Burr, Ashley Matthau and Lacey Dorn accused Weinstein of assault in interviews with The New York Times. TheNYT first reported the original bombshell allegations against Weinstein Oct. 5.
Exiner d’Amore, 62, a former employee of Weinstein’s production company, accused Weinstein of raping her at night in a hotel in the 1970s. Burr, an actress known for her role in “Lethal Weapon” and “Scarface,” accused the producer of sexually assaulting her in a hotel elevator and lobby in the 1970s. Matthau, a dancer who worked on one of Weinstein’s movies, accused the producer of straddling and masturbating on her in a hotel room in 2004. Dorn, a documentarian, accused Weinstein of sexually assaulting her while she was leaving a party by grabbing her legs and touching her buttocks and crotch through her clothes.
“This has haunted me my entire life,” said Exiner d’Amore.
Matthau recalled specifics of the time when Weinstein allegedly stripped, straddled and masturbated on her in a hotel room.
“I kept telling him, ‘Stop, I’m engaged,’ but he kept saying: ‘It’s just a little cuddling. It’s not a problem. It’s not like we’re having sex,’” Matthau said.
Matthau claims she was one of the few women to try and press charges, but says Weinstein’s lawyer severely threatened her. She ended up settling for $100,000 to keep silent.
In a similar scenario, Dorn tried to tell friends of Weinstein’s harassment of her and they shrugged it off as if it was simply a “rite of passage” in the entertainment industry, the actress alleged.
At least 80 women have currently accused Weinstein of sexually assaulting and harassing them, reported Newsweek.
