“that’s how players feel about you”
As the aftermath of Houston Texans owner Bob McNair’s recent comments – in which he likened allowing players to protest the national anthem to “inmates running the prison” – continues to stir throughout the league as players a planning a separate protest, now Jay Z is speaking out against the remarks.
During the first concert of his ‘4:44’ Tour in Anaheim, California, Jay Z hit back at McNair for his comments, saying “that’s how players feel about you,” referring back to the Texans owner.
The New York Times reports:
After “The Story of O. J.,” which he dedicated to the civil rights activist Dick Gregory, he mentioned with exasperation how the owner of the Houston Texans recently said that the N. F. L. “can’t have the inmates running the prison.”
“That’s how they look at you,” Jay-Z said. “That’s exactly how they feel about you.”
