Last month, OPPO introduced its first “selfie expert” smartphone with an 18:9 display, the F5. It was launched in the Indian market earlier this month at Rs.19,990 for the variant with 4GB of RAM. OPPO has now introduced a more affordable variant of the F5, which it is calling the F5 Youth. While the new OPPO F5 Youth retains the same A. I. technology as the F5, it features a lower resolution 16MP front-facing camera with large 2.0μm pixel size and an f/1.6 aperture lens. There are a few differences in terms of core specs as well, especially in the memory department. When it comes to design and build, however, the F5 Youth is nearly identical to the standard F5.
When OPPO launched the F5 in India earlier this month, it announced that the F5 Youth would be coming to the Indian market in December. The F5 Youth is likely to be priced somewhere around the Rs.17,000 mark in India, which would make it a direct rival to the Honor 9i. Currently, the F5 Youth has only been launched in the Philippines, where it carries a PHP 13,990 (Rs.17,800 approx.) price tag
