Xiaomi collaborated with Google last month to revive the Android One program with the launch of the Xiaomi Mi A1 ( review). The smartphone was initially offered in the Indian market in Black and Gold hues. Now, the brand has gone ahead and launched a Rose Gold variant of the device in the country.
Apart from the colour, everything else remains the same in the new variant of the Mi A1. The unibody all metal handset comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display, and is fuelled by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. The SoC has been mated to 4GB of RAM, Adreno 506 graphics and 64GB of storage. The internal storage can be further expanded using a microSD card. Out of the box, the Mi A1 runs a stock version of Android Nougat and will be getting major Android updates for two years including Android Oreo and Android P next year.
In the imaging department, there are two 12-megapixel shooters at the rear – one wide-angle lens and one telephoto lens. The cameras have been equipped with a dual-LED flash unit, portrait mode, background blur mode and optical zoom, to name a few. For selflie lovers there is a 5-megapixel snapper on the front panel. For its power requirement, the Mi A1 relies upon a 3,080mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, you get 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, Infrared sensor and A-GPS.
According to the brand, this handset will go on sale starting November 21st at 12:01 am. Interested buyers can head to Mi.com and Flipkart to purchase the device, which is priced at Rs 14,999. Xiaomi will also be selling the device at Mi Home stores, Mi Preferred Partner stores, and retail partner stores across the country.
