OnePlus has started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo based Oxygen OS Open Beta 2 for the OnePlus 5.
Less than a month after the first beta, OnePlus has started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo based Oxygen OS Open Beta 2 for the OnePlus 5. The Open Beta 2 build comes with a host of bug fixes, tweaks and improvements and is currently available for all beta users to download and install.
Along with the latest November Android security patch, the second beta brings with it improvements to Reading Mode, Bluetooth audio, the user interface and vibration. Issues related to widgets and shortcuts, a reboot issue when using picture-in-picture and bugs related to parallel apps have also been fixed. There are also speed improvements while deleting a large number of files and the addition of the f4v video format.
Those already running the Open Beta on their OnePlus 5 should receive the latest build via an OTA (over the air) software update. If you are not a part of the beta and want to experience Android 8.0 Oreo on your OnePlus 5 before the final release, you can flash the beta image manually by following the instructions here .

It is advisable not to install the Beta on your primary smartphone as it is not a final release and the experience might involve crashes and bugs. While the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T have already received Android 8.0 Oreo, the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T are excepted to be updated to the latest flavour of Android sometime in early 2018.
OnePlus has recently launched the OnePlus 5T Star Wars edition in India for a price of Rs 38,990. The limited edition smartphone comes with a new matte white paint job, an exclusive Star Wars theme and Star Wars wallpapers and Star Wars branding on the back panel. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
