Nintendo Switch owners will soon be able to play Nihon Falcom’s Ys 8: Lacrimosa of Dana on their favorite hybrid console.
Nintendo confirmed today that Ys 8: Lacrimosa of Dana, the newest installment in the beloved RPG franchise that initially launched on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in September 2017, will be available to Switch players this summer. A synopsis of the game on Nintendo’s website reads:
Adol awakens shipwrecked and stranded on a cursed island. There, he and the other shipwrecked passengers he rescues form a village to challenge fearsome beasts and mysterious ruins on the isolated island. Amidst this, Adol begins to dream of a mysterious blue-haired maiden living in an unknown world.
Nintendo’s news comes just one day after PC gamers learned they would be able to play the Ys 8: Lacrimosa of Dana on Jan. 30. That version of the game will include the revised localization of the game.
When Ys 8: Lacrimosa of Dana was first released last year, our reviewer said it was one of “the tightest-designed action-RPGs I’ve ever played, a game that elevates the series to a stellar new level in everything but name.”
