The presence of the Always-On Display also suggests that Huawei P20 might feature an OLED display which is better suited to the technology.
Huawei is expected to announce three phones under its P20 series on 27 March in Paris. We do not know much about the internals of either phone yet, but a new report does shed some light on what we can expect from the Huawei P20 Plus.
According to a report by XDADevelopers, Huawei is expected to launch the P20 Plus codenamed ‘Anne’ with a beefy 4,000 mAh battery and may also pack in an Always-On Display feature.
Huawei has been able to steer clear of leaks so far, but based on firmware files found by @FunkyHuawei, Huawei left a mention of 4,000 mAh battery on the P20 Plus’ product partition.
Digging a little deeper into the firmware files, @FunkyHuawei was also able to find the Always-On Display APK in the partition. This suggests that the app will be preinstalled on the Huawei P20 Plus. This, however, will not be the first time that Huawei will be featuring an Always-On Display since it was debuted on last year’s LG P10.
The presence of the Always-On Display also suggests that Huawei might feature an OLED display which is better suited to the technology.
Based on an older report, the P20 Plus model will likely be made available in Midnight Black, Klein Blue and Sakura Pink.
Alongside the P20 Plus, the other two phones Huawei is expected to announce are the P20 and the P20 Lite.
