HMD Global, which currently owns the license to manufacture and sell Nokia smartphones, will be organising its press conference at MWC 2018 in Barcelona today, and is expected to unveil several new Nokia Android phones at the event. Nokia’s MWC conference starts at 4pm in Barcelona (8.30pm IST) and interested readers can watch the announcement live from the company’s official website or its Facebook page .
In the lead-up to the event, HMD Global has been tipped to launch several new Nokia Android phones from the budget to premium price segment. As of now, HMD Global is expected to announce the flagship Nokia 9 (aka Nokia 8 Sirocco), Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 1 smartphones at its MWC press conference. Apart from smartphones, the company has also been tipped to globally unveil the Nokia 3310 (4G) and Nokia 6 (2018), which were announced for the Chinese market earlier.
While the company itself has not revealed any specific information about the press conference or the new products that might be unveiled, HMD Global’s Chief Product Office Juho Sarvikas has teased the announcements to be “ awesome ” on Twitter. Even on the Facebook page for the event, the company has not shared many details but described the event as the “ next chapter ” in the company’s story.
