PYEONGCHANG, South Korea — The 2018 Winter Olympic Games come to a conclusion with the closing ceremony, beginning at 6 a.m. Eastern time. Stay here for live updates, photographs and analysis from Pyeongchang:
• Traditionally, athletes enter the stadium en masse, rather than grouped by national delegation.
• Each nation will designate one athlete to carry its flag. Jessica Diggins, gold medalist in the cross country team sprint has been chosen for the United States. Russia is the exception; the International Olympic Committee decided it could not carry its flag after two of its athletes tested positive.
• K-pop bands will provide some of the entertainment. They include Exo, a hugely popular Korean-Chinese boy band, and CL, a member of the edgy, rocking girl group 2NE1.
• There will be a segment devoted to Beijing, host of the 2022 Games.
• At least one “surprise guest” has been promised.
• Ivanka Trump, the daughter of President Donald Trump, is expected to be in the audience.
• At least once, and probably more, I. O. C. President Thomas Bach will be introduced as an Olympic gold medalist in fencing.
