The nation’s civil aviation authority grounded the operator’s aircraft indefinitely.
At least seven people died after a plane crashed into a house near Philippine’s Manila on Saturday, Reuters quoted local officials as saying. The aircraft, operated by Lite Air Express, was en route to Laoag in Luzon when it crashed into the house of an 80-year-old woman.
“The house was burned while the aircraft was totally wrecked. All seven victims died on the spot,” Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao said.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has initiated an investigation into the matter. “All aircraft operated by Lite Air Express were grounded pending investigations,” the authority’s spokesperson, Eric Apolonio said.
