Two North Carolina singers to compete on 'The Voice' Monday night

Two North Carolina natives will be competing in the battle rounds Monday night on NBC’s singing competition “The Voice.”
Two North Carolina natives will be competing in the battle rounds Monday night on NBC’s singing competition “The Voice.”
Britton Buchanan, 18, of Sanford, and Molly Stevens of Raleigh will be singing for their chance to move on to the next round on the show.
Buchanan, who is competing against Jaclyn Lovey for the chance to remain on Team Alicia, is a senior at Lee County High School who has lived in Sanford his entire life.
“I try to be as energetic and intense in performances as I can, because I always tell people for the last like 18 years, all I’m trying to do is be like Bruce Springsteen,” he said in an interview last month .
Stevens, who will be competing against fellow Team Kelly member Justin Kilgore, currently lives in Tennessee but has previously lived in Raleigh.
Chapel Hill native Rayshun Lamarr won his battle round for Team Adam last week on “The Voice.”
The three North Carolina natives competition on the show his season join Brooke Simpson, who came in third place last season .
