In celebration of April’s Fool, Google Maps will be allowing its users to play Where’s Waldo this week. The update will be available across three platforms: Android, iOS, and the PC.
Where’s Waldo was once an immensely popular hide-and-seek game where players would have to locate the titular character on a crowded page. In the case of Google Maps’ version, players need to do to tap on the pop up of Waldo on the edge of their display to start the game. Upon tapping Waldo, users will then be given the option to start the game and begin searching for the famed peppermint-designed protagonist.
Like all Waldo games, users will only be able to progress once they find Waldo. To make the game a little bit more interesting, Google has also included Waldo’s friends and rival – Wenda, Woof, Wizard Whitebeard, and Odlaw.
This isn’t the first time Google has gone all out with its April Fools jokes. Google Maps users were treated to a game of Pacman back in 2015, and Pokemon hunt in 2014. If anything, this is a little tamer and less addictive than those two were back in the day.
