Fire breaks out near Chicago Bears' Soldier Field as propane tank explosion ignites

A small fire broke out following the explosion of a propane tank outside of Soldier Field, the home venue of the NFL’s Chicago Bears, on Saturday.
Chicago Police Department public information officer Jose Jara told USA TODAY Sports authorities were called to Soldier Field around noon and found a sponsored tent at an Autism Speaks event had caught fire. A propane tank exploded near Soldier Field’s Gate 6, and a tree also caught fire.
Jara said the fire was quickly put out and only one person, a 60-year-old Autism Speaks worker, was taken to Northwestern Medicine hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation.
As authorities were alerted, several onlookers caught thick smoke from afar on social media. Multiple explosions were heard, according to the Chicago Police Scanner, causing temporary panic. An announcement came over the loud speaker telling people to evacuate.
