LG officially announced the V35 ThinQ, it’s second flagship smartphone this year. The phone comes just weeks after the launch of the G7 ThinQ. However, the phone’s design looks completely identical to LG’s V30S ThinQ; a phone that launched earlier in the year at MWC 2018.
Specs-wise, the V35 ThinQ is rocking a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB RAM, and a choice between a 64GB or 128GB internal storage capacity. It comes with a six-inch OLED FullVision QHD+ (2560 x 1440) display, with a ratio of 18:9. It also appears that the display has been spared the notch that has been popping on the smartphones of its competition. Unsurprisingly, the phone is also impressively light, weighing at just 157g, along with a thickness of just 7.3mm.
The V35 ThinQ also sports a rear dual camera setup with two 16MP camera sensors, which are capable shooting either in standard or Super Wide Angle mode. LG states that the new camera features less edge distortion, and captures sharper and more natural photos compared to the G7 ThinQ. Even the front-facing camera has been given an upgrade, from 5MP to 8MP.
Touching further on the camera, the V35 ThinQ will also benefit from the use of the newly announced Google Lens feature; it will integrated into the phone’s on-board camera app, and as mentioned during Google I/O 2018, Google Lens will be able users to gain real-time information from their surrounding environment.
In terms of audio, it seems like the V35 ThinQ isn’t getting the Bang & Olufsen treatment. Instead, the phone will come with DTS: X 3D Surround Sound, along with a Hi-Fi Quad DAC that LG says is capable of delivering a 3D surround sound experience that is akin to 7.1 channel audio system.
The LG V35 ThinQ will first be making its way through the US in June, followed by a limited global release in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The phone will be available in two colours: Aurora Black and Platinum Grey. It is not stated if the phone will be coming to Malaysia.
