LG V35 ThinQ is mostly like the LG G7 ThinQ minus the notch. It is powered by Snapdragon 845, comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Read on for more details.
The LG V30, later released as the V30S ThinQ with LG’s obsession with the ‘ThinQ’ branding, now has a successor, the LG V35 ThinQ. The V35 ThinQ sports a 6-inch FullVision QuadHD+ OLED display with support for HDR 10, similar to its predecessor. The cameras are the same as the ones found on LG’s new G series flagship, the G7 ThinQ. There’s a dual 16MP camera setup at the back compared to a 16+13MP duo on the V30S ThinQ. The front-facing selfie camera also sees an improvement from a 5 MP shooter to an 8MP unit. The rear camera also features pixel binning which LG refers to as a ‘Super Bright Camera Mode’ from the G7 ThinQ.
Other features of the device include a Quad DAC for sound enhancements along with DTS:X with 3D virtualization up to 7.1 audio. There’s also a pair of Bang and Olufsen (More commonly known as B&O) headphones bundled with the device itself. The V35 ThinQ is MIL-STD 810G compliant and is also IP68 certified water and dust resistant, something that LG has been including in their flagships for a while now.
The major upgrade from the V30S ThinQ comes in the form of what’s under the hood, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 now running the show as opposed to the Snapdragon 835 chip found on the former. This is the same SoC used on the G7 ThinQ which makes the V35 ThinQ extremely similar, at least on paper, to its G series counterpart. There’s 6GB of RAM with two storage options, 64GB and 128GB, which can further be expanded using a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and comes with a 3300mAh battery, which is 300mAh more than the G7 ThinQ. There’s also support for Wireless charging, thanks to the glass back, and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 is present too.
To sum it up, the V35 ThinQ is basically the LG G7 ThinQ, but without a notch. The price, however, is at an unexpectedly high $900 mark. The sale of the smartphone will go live on the 8 th of June.
