The OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T both are getting a new software update which brings OxygenOS 5.0.3 for both of them. This new OxygenOS 5 version adds the highly awaited face unlock.
OnePlus has been quite consistent when it comes to software updates these days as the company was the first to roll out Android Oreo 8.1 and this is not the case with only the newer flagship phones. The Chinese giant has also shown some love for its older models as well. For instance, now the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T both are getting a new software update which brings OxygenOS 5.0.3 for both of them.
This new OxygenOS 5 version adds the highly awaited face unlock, which was made famous by Apple, but OnePlus did it much faster on the OnePlus 5, and now it is coming on your OnePlus 3/3T. However, there’s one important thing to note that this is still a beta update and not a stable version. Plus it isn’t rolled out as an OTA update either, which further tells you that this is a manual job.
Moreover, you also get a much more refined user interface, new look for the weather app, you also now have better shortcuts for apps and more options for display. A recently deleted folders for photos is now also available along with the File manager is now geared with enhanced classifications as new categories such as Large files, zip files and pictures are now added.
Now to gain access to this new update on your OnePlus 3 and the 3T you need to sign up as a Beta tester. Lastly, this new software update also comes baked with the latest MAy Android Security patch as well.
