MANILA (UPDATED) — A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck Agusan del Norte province Sunday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
MANILA (UPDATED) — A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck Agusan del Norte province Sunday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake was upgraded from an initial measurement of magnitude 4.6.
The tremor hit at 5:41 p.m., some 8 kilometers northwest of Tubay town.
It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 2 kilometers.
The tremor was felt in the following areas:
• Intensity IV – Cabadbaran City, Agusan Del Norte
• Intensity II – Cagayan de Oro City
Instrumental Intensity
• Intensity II – Surigao City
No aftershocks nor damage is expected from the earthquake.
