After Game 1 of the N. B. A. finals was far closer than almost anyone thought it would be, no one can be sure what to expect in Game 2 between the Cavaliers and Warriors. The Cavs still seem to be at an extreme talent disadvantage, but Golden State couldn’t slow down LeBron James in Game 1. If he can pile up points just as easily in Game 2, this game could be wide open as well.

How to watch: ABC has the broadcast at 8 p.m. Eastern, but you can stream Game 1 here.
• Tension may be high between the players as well after things got heated at the end of Game 1. Neither Tristan Thompson (who shoved a ball into Green’s face) nor Kevin Love (who came off the bench) was suspended for an altercation in overtime, but that does not mean that either side has let go of the animosity.
• Klay Thompson is officially questionable with a left leg injury from a collision with J. R. Smith early in Game 1, though he is widely expected to play. If he is unable to play, or if his defense is compromised at all, Thompson’s injury becomes a bigger deal with Andre Iguodala’s status still uncertain because of a bone bruise in his left knee. He is listed as doubtful and has yet to practice. James, however, is not ready to have much sympathy for his rival team.
• J. R. Smith’s decision to dribble out the clock rather than shoot at the end of regulation in Game 1 may have cost Cleveland the game, but he has strong internal support. That support may well be rewarded, as the frustrating guard has a tendency to respond to a major screw-up with a strong game.
