The singer released two albums after his 2008 win
“America’s Got Talent” Season 3 winner Neal E. Boyd has passed away in Sikeston, Missouri, the Scott County Coroner’s office confirmed to TheWrap. He was 42 years old.
Boyd won the singing competition in 2008, and subsequently released two albums, “My American Dream” in 2009 and “My Christmas Wish” in 2013.
The opera singer suffered from several medical issues, coroner Scott Amick said.

“He had heart failure, kidney failure and some liver disease. Just a number of things were wrong with him, and ultimately that’s what led to his demise,” Amick told People. “Neal was on a CPAP machine and when EMS got there, they put the monitor on him and confirmed he was deceased.”
Boyd and his mother were in a car accident last year after he blacked out at the wheel that proved near-fatal, and he has been recovering since.
Boyd ran twice for the Missouri House of Representatives as a Republican, losing in both the general election in 2012 and primary in 2014. He also performed at the GOP Convention in Florida in 2012.
