Late-night TV hosts raked President Donald Trump over the coals for his deferential post-summit press conference alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin in Finland.
“We haven’t seen an American so owned by a Russian since ‘Rocky IV,’” Jimmy Kimmel said on his ABC show, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
“Helsinki has frozen over,” he added. “The president of the United States today publicly sided with Russia over our own FBI on the subject of cyber-attacks on our election campaign.”
Kimmel even went so far as to say that Trump met with his “KGBFF, Vladimir Putin,” referring to Putin’s early career as a KGB spy.
“If you are wondering whether or not Vladimir Putin has an incriminating video of Donald Trump, we now know, beyond a treasonable doubt, that he does,” he said.
Meanwhile, on CBS’ “The Late Show,” Stephen Colbert zeroed in on politicians who took to Twitter to critique the summit, calling them “The worst reviews I’ve seen since Titanic… and I don’t mean the movie.”

Seth Meyers called the meeting “surreal” on NBC’s “Late Night,” comparing Trump meeting Putin to “a flustered 12-year-old who just met Mickey at Disneyland.”
“However low your expectations were,” Meyers said, “Trump managed to go much lower.”
Over on “The Daily Show,” Trevor Noah mocked Trump for blaming both the US and Russia for the breakdown of relations between the countries.
“Sure, on the one hand, Russia messed with the US by meddling in the elections, but on the other hand, America held elections, so they were asking for it. Yeah. Makes sense,” he said.
