Samsung deserves a slow clap for managing to leak its own smartwatch two weeks before the official unveiling. A listing for the Galaxy Watch in Rose Gold appeared briefly on Samsung’s website yesterday.
Samsung is gearing up for the Unpacked event happening on Aug. 9 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The problem is, nobody is going to be surprised when Samsung unveils three new devices as they all seem to have leaked already. The latest of which is the Galaxy Watch.
As CNET reports, a listing for the Galaxy Watch (42mm) in Rose Gold Bluetooth edition appeared on Samsung’s own US website. CNET managed to grab a shot of the listing before it disappeared. There was an image of the watch, but trying to click through to a product page resulted in a dead page loading. There’s also no details listed with the image and name, but the model number is SM-R810NZDAXAR.
The three products we now know are being unveiled at the Unpacked event are the Galaxy Watch, the Galaxy Note 9, and a new Wireless Charger Duo.
The packaging for the charger also leaked yesterday, revealing the ability to wirelessly fast charge two devices at once, with Samsung’s ideal scenario being we all purchase a Note 9, a Galaxy Watch, and the charger as a complete package. I hate to think how much all that would cost, though.
As for the Galaxy Note 9, it also leaked. AndroidHeadlines managed to obtain images of the Note 9 in black, blue, and brown case colors. There’s also expected to be a purple option. Beyond that, we shouldn’t be expecting anything too radically different.
There’s still 16 days until Samsung executives walk out on stage at Unpacked ready to unveil everything we already know about. That’s plenty of time for more details and images to leak.
