Disgraced Hollywood actor and alleged child sexual abuser Kevin Spacey’s new movie, “Billionaire Boys Club,” recently hit theaters and was an instant dud — earning only $126 on opening day.
“The ensemble crime-drama Billionaire Boys Club quietly opened Friday in 10 theaters scattered in select states across the U. S.,” The Hollywood Reporter notes. “The indie film earned an abysmal $126 for the day, following its release on premium VOD last month, according to those with access to theater grosses.”
The stunningly low revenue generated from the film breaks down to an average of under $13 per location where the movie was shown — which in many places is less than the price of a single movie ticket.
THR notes that this marks, by far, the lowest point of Spacey’s professional career — obviously aside from the sexual allegations made against him.
So far, more than a dozen men have come forward and claimed that Spacey committed some sort of sexual crime or misconduct against them, with some of them alleging the acts happened when they were minors.
The allegations first surfaced last October after the #MeToo movement was launched, with numerous women revealing alleged sexual crimes committed against them by now-disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.
Actor Anthony Rapp, 14 at the time, made the first allegations against Spacey — claiming that the actor made sexual advances on him when Rapp was barely a teenager.
Spacey responded by saying that he did not “remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago.”
Spacey is believed to be the target of at least two separate criminal investigations.
The first investigation is being conducted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and involves an alleged incident that reportedly happened “in October 1992 in West Hollywood, California, and involved a male adult.”
The second investigation is being conducted by London’s Metropolitan Police who are looking into multiple allegations of sexual abuse by Spacey. The probe reportedly being investigated by “officers from the Child Abuse and Sexual Offenses Command.”
