With the Nokia 3.1 Plus officially launched in India, it increases the competition for a lot of manufacturers and their respective devices. Xiaomi is having a terrific run in this market, becoming the biggest smartphone brand and its Redmi 6 Pro ( review) will contribute to that market share. The OPPO Realme 2 is also a very strong contender, thanks to its affordability and specifications. However, which device is going to be ideal for your pocket and as your daily driver? Here, is our detailed specifications and features comparison, where we also discuss the pricing at the end to help you decide.
All three smartphones come with an impressive build quality and feature tall displays, but they are using the IPS LCD technology in order to bring down that price. The Nokia 3.1 Plus sports a tall 6-inch screen with a 1440 x 720 pixels resolution in the 18:9 aspect ratio.
As for the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro, it has a smaller 5.84-inch display with a 2280 x 1080 pixels resolution in the 19:9 aspect ratio. Last, comes the OPPO Realme 2, and it boasts the largest display thanks to a 6.2-inch screen and a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. If you love smartphones with taller panels, then we are sure that you will want to acquire all three of these devices, but let us move on to find more features of the three devices.
The Nokia 3.1 Plus comes armed with a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset paired with either 2GB RAM + 16GB storage or 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. The Redmi 6 Pro is the most powerful in this comparison of specifications because it sports a Snapdragon 625 SoC that is mated with either 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage or 4GB RAM coupled with 64GB internal memory.
The Realme 2 features a Snapdragon 450 and is available in the same memory and storage configurations as the Redmi 6 Pro. Before you ask, yes you can expand the existing storage via a microSD card slot on all three devices, but keep in mind that except for the Nokia 3.1 Plus, the remaining two phones sport a dedicated slot.
The Nokia 3.1 Plus is the winner in the software department because it is a part of the Android One program. Though HMD Global will be responsible for rolling out software updates and not Google, Nokia 3.1 Plus runs a very clean UI with little to no bloatware and features the Android 8.1 Oreo update. The device is expected to receive the Android 9 Pie update before the year ends, so we’ll keep you updated on this. The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro and the OPPO Realme 2 are also running the Android 8.1 Oreo update, but it will not be as smooth as an interface belonging to an Android One device.
All three smartphones feature a dual-camera setup at the back, where the secondary sensor is used for depth-sensing. The Nokia 3.1 Plus sports a 13MP+5MP unit at the back, along with a single 8MP shooter at the front. The Redmi 6 Pro has a 12MP+5MP dual-snapper at the back and it is paired with a single 5MP unit at the front. Last comes the Realme 2, which has a 13MP+2MP duo on its backside, along with an 8MP shooter at the front.
The Nokia 3.1 Plus has a generous 3500mAh battery, but the capacity size is pale in comparison to the Redmi 6 Pro, which sports a 4000mAh unit, and the Realme 2, which wins this category by featuring the biggest 4230mAh cell. All smartphones are charged via microUSB 2.0 port and if you want to experience fast-charging on all three devices, you can invest in a power brick or a charger with a high amperage.
The Nokia 3.1 Plus is a terrific device that starts at Rs. 11,499, with the Redmi 6 Pro carrying a price of Rs. 10,999 from Amazon India, and the Realme 2 costing Rs. 8,990 for the base model at Flipkart. If you want performance, you should stick with the Redmi 6 Pro and if you want the best battery endurance out of all three, then choose the Realme 2. However, if you want stunning build quality for the price, along with a clean software interface, then there is no better option than the Nokia 3.1 Plus in this comparison.
