Oppo sub-brand Realme had launched the Realme 2 Pro in India on September 27. The device is a decent upgrade over the recently launched Realme 2. The Oppo sub-brand has launched two smartphones in India so far and is all set to drop the next offering. The specifications and features of the Realme 2 Pro are already out, thanks to the leaks and teasers. We have listed some reasons as to why this smartphone would be a great bet at the budget price range in India.
In a recent unboxing video, we saw a 6GB variant of the device with 64GB onboard storage. Earlier, the device appeared on the Geekbench confirming an 8GB RAM + 128 GB variant of the device. This amount of storage is great for performing multitasking and storing high-end games. For a budget smartphone, it’s an impressive specification.
The Realme 2 Pro comes with a massive 4350mAh capacity battery. We don’t know if this device will come with support for fast charging, but the battery capacity is enough to keep the device alive for a day after extensive usage. To recall, the Realme 2 also comes with a huge 4230mAh capacity battery with no support for fast charging.
The device is priced under the Rs. 20,000 mark. Since it’s an upgrade over the Realme 2, the 4GB+64GB variant costs at Rs.13,990, the 6GB + 64GB variant will cost you Rs.15,990, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB RAM variant sells for Rs. 17,990. The device is sold exclusively on Flipkart. At the Big Billion Day Sale running on Flipkart, you can grab the phone with flat 10% discount offer using HDFC Bank debit and credit cards.
Under the hood, the Realme 2 Pro is powered with a Snapdragon 660 processor, which is an impressive choice for a budget smartphone. The processor paired with 8GB RAM would make the device a gaming-centric. You can afford to work on multiple tabs and the internals would ensure smooth sailing. In comparison, the Realme 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, combined with Adreno 506 for handling the graphics.

Taking the legacy of the Realme 2 forward, the Realme 2 Pro also features a dual camera set up. The camera unit at the rear comprises a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP depth-sensing camera. The cameras at the rear are accompanied by an LED flash to handle low-lighting shots. The front of the device houses an 8MP camera for selfies and video calling. The cameras on the device get several AI-powered features like intelligent-scene-detection, portrait mode, and more.
The Realme 2 features a large 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. The device will most likely feature an aspect ratio of 19:9. There will be a waterdrop notch at the top that will allow it to have a better screen-to-body ratio than that of the Realme 2. On the software front, the Realme 2 Pro will run on Android 8.1 Oreo -based ColorOS 5.1 version out of the box. For biometrics authentication, the device will feature a fingerprint scanner along with a Face Unlock feature.
